Custom business cards can be an expensive investment. Business card printing these days require money for innovation and a eye-catching design. You have to make sure that your investment in your custom business cards do not go to waste. All that money you poured into creating your cards should produce an effective, high quality and beautiful business card.
To test the quality of your custom business card here is a little exam that your card must pass to be truly called a quality color business card. You can use this on sample printings of you new business card, or you can use this on your current card that needs updating.
Test 1: Paper Quality To test your business card's paper quality, look for several factors. First is its thickness. The thicker the business card, the more durable it should be. If your business card is easily foldable then you have a low quality business card. Next look for glossiness in the paper. Does your business card shine a bit when the light hits it? Does it feel smooth to the touch? If it doesn't have these properties, and it is a rough and opaque then your business card fails.
Test 2: Ink Quality To test the ink quality of your custom business cards simply splash or drop some water on your sample business card. If the ink immediately dissolves into the water and runs across the face of the business card then the ink quality is bad, or the paper quality doesn't accept ink readily. Either way this means that your business card fails at the ink quality test.
Test 3: Standardization The standard size for a business card is 3.5 x 2 inches. This size makes a business card fit in most common wallets or business card holders. Measure your business card with a ruler and see if it is within this standard size. If it isn't in this size then people might have difficulty fitting them into various media. So if your full color business card doesn't match this criteria it fails.
Test 4: Content Does your business card have your name, job title and company affiliation? Did you put in all pertinent contact details, addresses, email and website information? Are they easily read given their font style and font size? If you answered all yes to those questions then your business card passes the content test.
Test 5: Color and Images If your business card is printed in a colored business card then determine if the color of the business card doesn't clash with the content in terms of font color. If you used images for your business card then make sure the color of the business card brings out or compliments the image itself. Also judge if the color is right for the company image that you want to foster.
If your business card passes all five tests, then you have a decently designed quality custom business card ready for printing.
